Batman: The Dark Knight - "Why So Serious?!"

As a follow up to last year's blockbuster Batman Begins, Christopher Nolan is set to direct Warner Bros. Pictures' The Dark Knight, written by Jonathan Nolan, based on a story by Christopher Nolan and David Goyer. The film will be produced by Emma Thomas, Charles Roven and Christopher Nolan. Additionally, Christian Bale will resume his role as Bruce Wayne and Academy Award nominee Heath Ledger has been cast as The Joker. The announcements were made today by Jeff Robinov, President of Production, Warner Bros. Pictures. Christopher Nolan revamped the Batman franchise in 2005 with the immensely successful Batman Begins, starring Christian Bale in the title role, which chronicled the early years of the superhero. Nolan first garnered attention from critics and fans in 2000 with the groundbreaking drama Memento, which he wrote and directed. He went on to direct the thriller Insomnia, starring Al Pacino and Robin Williams, and recently wrapped production on The Prestige, with Hugh Jackman and Bale. Bale was most recently seen in the ensemble cast of Terrence Malick's The New World. His other credits include Little Women, Portrait of a Lady, Metroland, American Psycho, Laurel Canyon and Steven Spielberg's Empire of the Sun, which was his first starring role. Ledger most recently earned Oscar, Golden Globe, BAFTA and SAG Award nominations and won the New York Film Critics Circle Award for Best Actor for his portrayal of Ennis Del Mar in the award-winning drama Brokeback Mountain. His other credits include Casanova, Monster's Ball, Lords of Dogtown, The Brothers Grimm and The Patriot. "Chris' unique vision is what made Batman Begins such an outstanding film and we could not imagine anyone else at the helm of The Dark Knight," said Robinov. "We also can't wait to see two such formidable actors as Christian and Heath face off with each other as Batman and The Joker." "I'm excited to continue the story we started with Batman Begins," added Nolan. "Our challenge in casting The Joker was to find an actor who is not just extraordinarily talented but fearless. Watching Heath Ledger's interpretation of this iconic character taking on Christian Bale's Batman is going to be incredible." Production is set to begin on The Dark Knight in early 2007. http://www.blacktree.tv

Why - Secondhand Serenade

The buttons on my phone are worn thin I don't think that I knew the chaos I was getting in. But I've broken all my promises to you I've broken all my promises to you. Why do you do this to me? Why do you do this so easily? You make it hard to smile because You make it hard to breathe Why do you do this to me? A phrasing that's a single tear, Iis harder than I ever feared And you were left feeling so alone. Because these days aren't easy Like they have been once before These days aren't easy anymore. Why do you do this to me? Why do you do this so easily? You make it hard to smile because You make it hard to breathe Why do you do this to me? To me, to me, to me... I should've known this wasn't real And fought it off and fought to feel What matters most? Everything That you feel while listening to every word that I sing. I promise you I will bring you home I will bring you home. Why do you do this to me? Why do you do this so easily? You make it hard to smile because You make it hard to breathe Why do you do this to me? Why do you do this to me? Why do you do this so easily? You make it hard to smile because You make it hard to breathe Why do you do this to me? To me, to me, to me...

Moby Video - "Why does my heart feel so bad?"

This is footage that I shot from 1999- 2000 in and around the San Francisco bay area. I wanted to experiment with putting images to music and I've always been moved by this Moby song. The locations are: The Ocean Beach near the Cliff House in San Francisco. The museum under the Cliff House. (no longer there) An abandoned Drive-In movie theater. The San Mateo County Fair. In 2002 I finally sat down and cut this little video together. It's a bit pretentious, I know, but it was fun to do.
Why do people laugh at creationists? (part 26) Sarah Palin

In each case the creationist statements are shown to be outrageously stupid by even the most rudimentary knowledge of science. This episode is significantly different from previous episodes in that it has a political background. The vice presidential candidate for the Republican Party this year is the creationist Sarah Palin. The presidential candidate himself is 72 years old, and if he dies, that means that there will be a dangerously ignorant, hard core religious nut running the United States. Given that Palin doesnt know what the Bush Doctrine is (the source of one of the biggest US foreign policy blunders in recent history), and thinks that praying for soldier will protect them, I thought this worthy of a rather unusual episode of WPDLAC.
